What JobMap Does

JobMap is a job search app that shows listings on an interactive map. We use search terms, map position, and country filters to fetch and display job results.

We do not sell personal data.

Location

JobMap only asks for precise browser geolocation when you tap the location button. You can decline it and still use the app.

We may use your IP address on the server to determine your country for the default map region. If IP-based lookup is unavailable, we may fall back to your browser language/locale. We do not store your IP or precise coordinates for profiling.

We do not intentionally store your precise coordinates as a profile or tracking record.

Cookies And Local Storage

We use Google Analytics cookies only after you accept analytics in regions where consent is required.

We store a few items in your browser so the app works smoothly:

  • analytics consent choice (`jobmap.analytics.consent`)
  • install banner dismissal time (`jobmap.installBanner.dismissedAt`)
  • read job IDs on your device (`jobmap-read-jobs-v1`)

Third Parties

JobMap uses third-party services to fetch job listings, render maps, geocode places, and collect analytics if you accept them.

Those services may receive technical data such as your IP address, user agent, or search queries needed to provide the service.

  • Careerjet for job search results
  • Google Analytics for usage analytics after consent
  • Map and geocoding providers for map display and location lookup

Retention

Most app state stays in your browser. Server-side search and rate-limit logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and abuse prevention.

If you clear your browser storage, local settings and read-job history will be removed.

Your Choices

You can decline analytics, disable location permission, or clear browser storage at any time through your browser settings.

If you do not want JobMap to use location, simply do not tap the location button.
